He is tentatively listed as day-to-day. ... Now holding a one-game edge over the Tigers for fourth place in the American League Central, the Royals have a chance to finish out of the cellar for the first time since 2003. ... 3B Alex Gordon went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI on Wednesday, extending his hitting streak to nine games. Since returning from a torn right quadriceps on September 14, he is 12-for-35 (.343) with two homers and seven RBI. ... After Wednesday's win, the Royals now have three sweeps over divisional opponents this season - all three against the Tigers. They opened the season with a sweep of the Tigers from March 31-April 3, then accomplished the feat in a May 13-15 series and for a third time this week.
