Strong runs help Waltrip, Toyota put troubles in past
A cheating scandal sent Michael Waltrip's career careening out of control, and he almost lost it all. But here's the great thing about racing: Go fast enough, and you can put your troubles in the rearview mirror. Waltrip took a big step toward outrunning the stain of last year's Speedweeks debacle by posting the second-best speed in pole qualifying Sunday to secure his spot on the front row for the Daytona 500.
