Franchitti and Montoya working together to find success (AP)

NASCAR drivers Juan Pablo Montoya, left, of Colombia, and Dario Franchitti, of Scotland, talk in their pit stall during the morning practice session for the Rolex 24 Hour auto race at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla., Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008. They first met almost 15 years ago when Franchitti allowed Montoya to turn laps in his race car. Although the test ended in a horrible accident, it started a friendship that could ultimately be the key to Franchitti's success in NASCAR.

They first met in England in late 1994. One was a Scottish gentleman well on his way to a racing career, the other a raw Colombian looking for a big break.
